29th December 2006 - added Renovation photos.
13th February 2006 - added Yafforth photos.
28th January 2006 - re-did the blades page. Changed all of the individual pages for each knife into the standard site format (all pages in site are now in the same format), changed photos to be gallery based and added fact sheet to each page. Added completely new pages for SOG Bowie, Cold Steel Ti-Lite and Kershaw Leek as well as a new Kenpo Knives page which includes my Hibben Alaskan Survival knife.
27th January 2006 - Added blog! Made changes to the main stylsheet to fix the problem I was having whereby the wrapper div was only expanding to the size of the main text div and not the menu div, i.e. if the menu was longer than the main text it was sticking out of the bottom of the bounding box! Fixed this by floating both the main div and menu div. Removed all messy instances of <p><br /><p> that were scattered around as spacers as this is messy and poor markup! Proper use of margins in the CSS should have everything looking OK. Globally removed two unused divs as well as unused footer paragraph from all pages.
22nd January 2006 - updated the Jackie Chan page which I hadn’t touched in ages. Added a couple more reviews and added IMDB links to each film (used a perl script to parse the HTML from Jackie’s IMDB page and extract all the database IDs then parsed them back into my page). Broke changelog down into archived years and current year format.
21st January 2006 - moved all the Garforth Old and New pages within the standard page templates instead of having them full screen and made some minor grammatical changes to the text. More pages are planned for this section as people seem to enjoy it; I get far more e-mail about those pages than any others!

<sigh>
So a couple of weeks ago I decided to get the kitchen ordered, which was a nice thing to do as the house is just about finished apart from a bit of carpet and the kitchen fitting. I went down to IKEA at 9pm, thinking it’d be quiet, and mercifully it was (having spent 20 minutes just trying to park there the previous Saturday I didn’t fancy going through that again!).

Well, it’s 6.45am and I’m sat in a deserted college listening to Planet Rock and fixing broken AppleScript - this shit just isn’t funny any more.
If I blog this hopefully it’ll get Googled and possibly save someone else losing a night’s sleep!

Things are progessing nicely with the house! The builders have got the woodworm treatment done, replaced the rotten floorboards (which in Jeff’s words ‘disintegrated’ when he lifted them, eek!) and are cracking on with the plastering.

The builders have started today!
I’ve been off work and round at the house with them as I was also meant to
be getting my new fridge/freezer delivered (TOUCH T3H SHINEY). Turns out
Hotpoint had it down to be delivered tomorrow though, even though the
lady confirmed that they’d been asked to deliver it today. Thanks, good job
I had a lot to be getting on with!

Been grafting at the new house today. Got all the fitted cupboards ripped
out and most of the carpets up. The surveyor wasn’t lying when he said the
master bedroom floor had a ‘heavy infestation’ of woodworm, it’s absolutely
riddled!

I finally got the keys to my new house on Monday! I put the offer in in the first week of October so the whole process took four and a half months - pretty ridiculous given that neither I nor the vendor were in a chain! The delays were mostly caused by the vendor and her solicitor being awkward, incompetent or both.

Yesterday me and Jane and Elvis went to Yafforth, a tiny village near Northallerton in North Yorkshire.
As usual Elvis was quiet all day (juststood on the dashboard wagglin’) and Jane only offered her usual stuntedconversation (At the roundabout. Take. The. 3rd Exit….Turn around. When possible.).

10th September 2005 - added wardriving Garforth page.
30th August 2005 - added photos and mini-travelogue from my coast to coast road trip accross the USA.
25th June 2005 - Improved the menu design and made site-wide typographical improvements (working in an Art College this stuff is starting to rub off on me!). Also updated the kenpo video links.
5th June 2005 - added black and white photographs and removed a lot of the lower quality America 2003 photographs. Added my new Black Bear Classic into the blades photographs and also replaced a lot of the existing blades photographs with better quality ones. Finally added a gallery of CGI work (as in Perl, not Gollum).
5th March 2005 - added Eryholme and Kirby Sigston photosets.
24th January 2005 - Updated just about the whole site, new style and new content! Updated biog, updated kenpo section, removed some computing pages no-one ever looked at, updated website portfolio, new martial arts photos and, fireworks photos, new Spyderco and CRKT knives in the blades section as well as an easier to navigate Garforth Old and New section. The whole site is now fixed width apart from pages with large photos which open without menues and instead have a link back to their parent page.
