Old Photos of Garforth
These images are of Garforth as it was in times gone by. Where possible I have taken contemporary photographs to accompany the older images so that the changes over time can be seen.
Re-design Note
As of August 2007 this section of the site has been completely re-designed from scratch, so if you have visited before then please take the time to re-visit any sections that you are interested in!
As part of the re-design I have re-digitised all of the old photographs using higher quality equipment (see quality difference) as well as adding over 50 new images.
I have also taken new contemporary photographs using a high quality Canon DSLR (see quality difference) as opposed to the much more basic digital camera that I had 5 years ago when I first created this section of the site.
Please click on any slide below in order to see the full sized images and any additional information for that area (some areas have more images than others). Within each area the images are presented within the page to make it easy for you to compare them, but you may also click any image to view it at its full size.
Some of the contemporary images also allow you to select a ‘small’ or ‘large’ size via the links above them. The larger versions of the images will obviously take longer to load but are much more detailed. For most people simply clicking on the image in order to load the smaller version should be fine!
Please note that you will find the images quite slow to load if you are using a dial-up Internet connection as they are presented at a high quality intended for broadband users!
