Buffy the Vampire Slayer (TV)

During all series of Buffy she and the other cast members fought with Medieval style weapons just about every episode, so there were a lot of knives used. Often these seemed to be fantasy knives to fit in with the theme of the programme.

Throughout the latter half of series three of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Faith uses a Gil Hibben Jackal, which is the 1999 model from the Gil Hibben Custom Range. Mayor Wilkins makes a gift of this knife to Faith (video clip), which Buffy then stabs her with in the episode ‘Graduation Day, Part 1’.

It is said in the extras on the DVD that the knife was just picked out of a catalogue as it looked ‘cool’, so once again this was just the random choice of a props guy! Still, is does look fantastic for the role that it played:
