In Lost the character Locke has a large collection of knives with him that he had on the plane. He first opens a metal flight case full of knives in the first series, but then produces more knives from other places as the show goes on. The knives are used both for hunting and fighting throughout the series.

Pretty much all of the knives are cheap crap (apart from the Harpy and the Ka-Bar)! This is because the props master did not want to pay a lot for the knives, according to the guy who sold them the originals:

“For the most part except for the Bucks and Spyderco all the knives that were purchased for the show were really cheap import knives. We tried to steer them towards stuff like the CRK Green Beret Knife and other stuff in the CRK line and SOGs, Ontarios etc. Stuff a survivalist would probably actually carry. They weren’t having any of it. Too expensive. So they ended up with stuff that they thought “looked cool” but didn’t cost too much.”

Here is Lock’s flight case where we first see his knives. Since these are the only knives that Locke ever actually introduces as his, it is reasonable to surmise that some of the other knives below may possibly have come from other passengers’ luggage or from some of the stations on The Island.

We also see Locke with a Spyderco Harpy clipped to his jacket, and then later on an imitation of the same knife; so it is presumed that the original Harpy was lost during filming!
